Top 5 Most Expensive Honda Cars In South Africa

1. Honda Civic Type R – R 813 100

Built for the track, the all-new Civic Type R has racing in its DNA. With three spine tingling driving modes: Comfort, Sport and +R mode, which at the touch of a button adjusts settings for optimal performance. The new Civic Type R is a car only Honda could make. It reflects our unique thinking, our drive for constant reinvention, re-evaluation and relentless pursuit of better. Our desire to create the perfect sports machine for the road and the track is imprinted into its DNA and drawn into every curve of its body. It’s a car that has been built for the sheer thrill of driving, a car built with soul, a car that speaks to you the way few others can. High performance technology requires unique, motorsport inspired features such as brake cooling vents, aerodynamic rear wing, lightweight aluminium vented bonnet and centre mounted triple outlet exhaust. Underneath the sculpted bonnet lies a two litre, four cylinder VTEC TURBO engine which develops a maximum power output of 228kW and 400Nm of torque. It’s no surprise to discover this gives the Type R the ability to sprint from 0-100km/h in 5.8 seconds and achieve 272km/h top speed (where conditions allow). All this power is fed through a smooth and precise six-speed manual gearbox which is optimised by a rev match control system to ensure slick, intuitive gear changes. The final drive is transmitted through an exceptionally responsive helical limited-slip differential to further enhance the performance character. The ultimate performance test is of course on the track. Not any track, but the iconic Nürburgring, where we pushed the new Type R to the limit. It responded with distinction, slicing almost 7 seconds from its predecessor’s time.

2. Honda CR-V – R 699 900

The fluid lines of the CR-V were designed not only to create a sleek and dynamic look, but also to assist performance by channelling airflow, resulting in improved fuel economy. The chrome garnish and rear skid plate provide the CR-V with an individual and purposeful look, while the door mirrors’ curved edges harmonise with the overall design, reducing blind spots around the car.

The dramatic window design provides superb all-round visibility and makes it a pleasure to be seen in.

3. Honda HR-V – R 517 900

The Honda HR-V has dynamic styling, sophisticated looks and attitude, which, combined with its defined, sleek upper body, makes this an advanced and attractive SUV. However, the strong, sculptural lines evoke a sense of sports car as well as SUV, making it the perfect partner to any kind of driver. But the SUV side of it that makes it what it is: your essential adventure partner. To ensure you can take full advantage of a wide visibility range, the seats are positioned high in the vehicle. Ultimate traveller essentials like the front fog lights, 17” alloy wheels, shark fin antenna and tailgate spoiler command the attention the HR-V deserves. LED indicators are placed in the door mirrors, while highly attractive LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), LED auto-adjust headlights, and LED tail lights look sophisticated and emit a glow reminiscent of some future time. Every inch of the HR-V permeates the sense of adventure. From the rear door handles that are concealed just behind the window, to the stylish black grille and trim to the roof rails, it’s clear that the HR-V is exactly the kind of accomplice you want on your journey through life.
