February 13, 2023: The six-day OzowDR23 supercar rally, originally planned to kick off on 27 April, will now take place from 15 to 20 June, 2023. Organisers and event sponsor Ozow made the date change decision due to the large number of public holidays over the original period and the likelihood of improved weather at the event’s numerous destinations later in the year.

The largest supercar rally in the southern hemisphere will see a convoy of South Africa’s most desirable exotica travel around the country on a 1,300km road trip jam-packed with competitive mini events and a number of five-star pit stops on each of its six days and nights.

OzowDR23 will set off from the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit on 15 June, but not before 60 of the country’s finest cars take to the tarmac for a full throttle curtain raiser. From there the rally will hit the road and visit the Drakensburg, Ballito, Umhlanga, Port Shepstone and Hoedspruit before wrapping up in Nelspruit on 20 June.

A number of stops along the way will see the full field of precious metal participate in competitions including tyre-testing gymkhanas, time trials at Dezzi Raceway, a hillclimb on the famed bends of the R539 near Sabie and flat-out top speed runs on Hoedspruit’s Air Force runway.

In addition to competitive elements at the wheel, entrants will nominate charities of their choice and challenge each other to raise the most money by the end of the rally. Automated EFT specialist and title sponsor Ozow will develop and facilitate an easy payment system with unique smartphone scannable QR codes applied as decals to each team’s supercar. Teams are encouraged to support their charities through donations from associates and members of the public along the high-octane journey.

While the OzowDR23 supercar entry list is yet to be confirmed, an ultra-valuable assortment of exotic machinery including rare Lamborghinis, Ferraris, McLarens, Aston Martins, Porsches and Paganis – some with values approaching R100-million – is expected based on past event participation.

Keep up to date with OzowDR23 developments and along the route in next year on Instagram, Facebook and at the event website www.phoenixevents.org/daytona-rally.

Super-, hyper- and ultimate luxury car owners interested in entering the largest charitable rally in the southern hemisphere are welcome to contact Mark Castel at [email protected] for more information.
