New Communication Team Structure
Toyota South Africa Motors is pleased to announce a revised communication team structure – which caters to evolving requirements and expansion of portfolios across our Marketing Division. As such, the new structure is positioned to better serve our customer base and streamline communication streams.
New Corporate Communication Manager
We would like to heed a warm welcome to Ray Leathern who joins the team as Corporate Communications Manager. Recently relocated from Cape Town to Gauteng, Ray Leathern is an award-winning journalist, editor and author, whose background across a wide variety of media will stand him in good stead for the role.
With 17 years’ experience – including two years as CAR Magazine editor and five years as motoring group editor for Highbury/RamsayMedia, preceded by a stint as digital editor at Media24 TopCar – Ray is an accomplished media practitioner, and we believe he will be a valuable addition to the Toyota Marketing Communications team.
To let off steam, Ray has traded the waves of Muizenberg and track days at Killarney for the rarefied air of Gauteng and says he is open to suggestions for new hobbies.
He joins the team overseen by Nomphelo “Lelo” Ndzimela (Senior Manager: Corporate & Lexus Product Communications), which includes Thabo Smouse (Lexus Product Communication Manager) and is supported by Lebogang Morobe.
New Toyota Product Communication Team
Mzo Witbooi moves across to the newly-formed Toyota Product Communication & Gazoo Racing team (having served as Corporate Communications Manager), taking over the Toyota Product PR and Marketing Fleet role. He is joined by Carmen Hamilton-Hoskins (Gazoo Racing Manager) and supported by Jenna Frazer.
Mr Riaan Esterhuysen (Senior Manager: Toyota Product PR and Toyota Gazoo Racing) oversees the newly-formed team, applying his keen interests in motorsport, time-attack racing and performance-vehicle motoring to the world of GR. He also carries collective experience in both product communication and product planning fields. Natasha Lourens (who previously supported the PR team), moves to a new portfolio in the Promotions division.
Ends.
