In the world of Toyota, things can and will always be improved. This principle – kaizen – is exemplified in the innovations and enhancements introduced in the new Yaris. The latest generation of Toyota’s hybrid electric hatchback has enjoyed great success since its launch in 2020; now it’s set to be even better.

The new range builds on Yaris’s previous achievements, strengthening its appeal in key areas and embracing new technologies to make it an even more compelling proposition. Performance, safety, and styling have all been scrutinized to ensure the model remains a leading player in the highly competitive B-segment in the UK and Europe.

Here are 20 features you should expect from the new Toyota Yaris, showcasing its evolution:

  1. More Powerful Hybrid Electric Powertrain: A new 129bhp/96kW full hybrid electric powertrain joins the lineup, alongside the existing 114bhp/85kW system, offering sharper acceleration and improved performance.
  2. Fifth Generation Toyota Hybrid Technology: This advanced technology ensures leading fuel and emissions efficiency, with the ability to drive longer distances in all-electric EV mode.
  3. New Hybrid Transaxle: Features a more powerful electric motor-generator, contributing to a 12 percent uplift in total system output and 30 percent more torque.
  4. Improved Acceleration: Acceleration from 0-62mph is now half a second quicker, enhancing the driving experience.
  5. Best-in-Class CO2 Emissions: Despite the power increase, CO2 emissions remain low at 96 – 98g/km, with fuel consumption only marginally affected.
  6. Predictive State of Charge Control: This innovative feature enhances fuel efficiency by optimizing battery charge levels based on driving conditions.
  7. Digital Driver’s Instrumentation: A customizable 7 or 12.3-inch digital display offers sharp graphics and multiple layout options for personalized driving data presentation.
  8. Toyota Smart Connect+ Multimedia System: A 10.5-inch touchscreen provides access to cloud-based navigation and real-time traffic updates, enhancing journey planning.
  9. “Hey Toyota” Voice Agent: Advanced voice recognition technology allows for natural, conversational interaction with the multimedia system.
  10. Wireless Smartphone Integration: Offers easy and seamless connection with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
  11. Over-the-Air Software Updates: Ensures the multimedia functions and advanced safety features are always up to date without the need to visit a service center.
  12. Enhanced Toyota Safety Sense: Includes new and improved driver assistance systems, such as a more capable Pre-Collision System and Proactive Driving Assist.
  13. Acceleration Suppression: Prevents sudden acceleration in scenarios where there is a risk of collision.
  14. Safe Exit Assist and Rear Seat Reminder System: Enhances safety for passengers exiting the vehicle and reminds the driver of passengers or pets left in the rear seat.
  15. Adaptive Cruise Control Improvements: Offers smoother operation and new functions for safer overtaking and lane rejoining.
  16. Premiere Edition: A new range-topping model featuring the more powerful hybrid system, exclusive paint options, and a high level of equipment.
  17. Sporty GR Sport Grade: Offers exclusive styling cues, sport seats, and performance-inspired details.
  18. Compact and Agile Design: Maintains a sporty profile with a long wheelbase and wide tracks for a roomy cabin and solid road stance.
  19. High-Quality Interior: Focuses on sensory appeal with premium materials and a “less is more” design philosophy.
  20. Sustainability Commitment: The Yaris continues Toyota’s commitment to sustainability, not only through its efficient hybrid technology but also through thoughtful features like Predictive State of Charge Control.
