Jaguar TCS Racing will return to race on home soil for only the second time in 17 years this weekend for rounds 13 and 14 of the 2022 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

  • Jaguar TCS Racing return to the UK capital, London, for the penultimate double-header of the season
  • An important weekend for the British team as they race on home soil for only the second time in 17 years
  • Following a successful haul of points in New York, Mitch Evans and British racing driver, Sam Bird look to capitalise on impressive pace of Jaguar I-TYPE 5
  • Lights go green at the ExCeL arena in London at 15:00 BST on 30 and 31 July 2022
  • Watch the action live on Channel 4 across the weekend in the UK

Racing in the heart of the British capital, Jaguar TCS Racing drivers Mitch Evans and Sam Bird will take to the streets around the historical heartland of East London’s docklands.

With only four races remaining, Jaguar TCS Racing are looking to capitalise on the impressive race pace seen last time out in New York. Mitch Evans secured his sixth podium of the season and Sam Bird climbed an incredible eleven places to fifth.

The London E-Prix is the only indoor and outdoor Formula E race with 35% of the track inside the ExCeL Centre, adding a unique addition to a thrilling circuit. With indoor and outdoor sectors and 22 tight corners, tyre management and set up play a crucial element to a successful race.

It’s incredibly special to race on home soil again this year. Being in London is motivating for the whole team and drives us even more to deliver strong results in front of our home fans including a grandstand full of our Jaguar Land Rover colleagues. We’ve seen how strong the team and Jaguar I-TYPE 5’s race pace is throughout the season and as we head into the penultimate double-header of the season, we will be doing our very best to bring home more points, podiums and wins. Every session is key as we get to the business end of this championship.

This season is incredibly close and after a successful second race in New York, I’m determined to close the gap to the top of the drivers’ standings and hopefully stand on the top step of the podium at our home race.

As a British driver, racing in London not far from where I grew up is an unforgettable experience, even more so with Jaguar TCS Racing, an iconic British team. The Jaguar I-TYPE 5 had incredible pace last time out in New York so I’m looking forward to getting back in the car and hopefully delivering another strong performance in front of the home crowd.

JAGUAR TCS RACING DRIVER #10

The Formula E calendar features some excellent race locations but for Jaguar TCS Racing the London E-Prix is particularly special. London is the only track that features indoor and outdoor sections. There are 22 tight and twisty corners with varying surfaces of high and low grip. It is very easy to recoup energy with lots of heavy braking into tight corners. As a result, the FIA has reduced the overall allowed race energy from 52 kWh to 46 kWh. With four races remaining, it’s all to play for and we’re extremely excited to race in front of the home fans.
