MasterDrive Cape Town is kicking the year off to a positive start with their first event taking place this Saturday. Killarney International Raceway is hosting their first Car Track School powered by MasterDrive. It promises to be a day of excitement on the track, entertainment off the track and a few spoils with well-deserved cold drinks and snacks.
The CEO of MasterDrive, Eugene Herbert, says there is no better way to kick off 2023’s track experiences at Killarney than with an event with a dual-purpose. “The first is to enjoy some track time, an opportunity not often available to many drivers. While the second is to learn from the MasterDrive instructors and their years of extensive experience in becoming the best driver possible.
“One of the best places to learn how to turn heads with your car control skills is on the track without the safety concerns other cars and obstacles normally present and with an experienced instructor by your side. There is no better way to get the thrill of a track experience in a controlled environment that still offers car-lovers excitement along with other like-minded drivers,” says Herbert.
Des Easom, the executive manager of Killarney International Raceway, says their first event of the year is a demonstration of their commitment to road safety. “The Car Track School powered by MasterDrive will improve driving to meet a higher standard rather than just ‘gearing down’ to obey speed limits. Meanwhile skills are improved for the safety of both drivers and their families.
“Participants do not all drive performance cars: there are drivers at the track school in all types of cars from hatchbacks to hot rods. Irrespective of their vehicle, drivers seize the opportunity to chat with the experienced instructors and then put their advice into practice during the next track session,” says Easom.
MasterDrive will be there with their performance cars from their Hi-Performance Experience. The general manager of coastal regions at MasterDrive, Gino Nourse, explains further: “Drivers will not only learn insider tips from experienced instructors but spend time during one of the breaks getting up close-and-personal with the performance cars that form the backbone of our Hi-Performance Experience.
“We look forward to sharing driving tips acquired over many years of training, practice and experience on both the track and everyday driving – which often may feel like you are navigating a track. It is our privilege to share these skills at the first event hosted by Killarney in 2023 and we are proud to be a part of such a worthwhile initiative,” says Nourse.
